Qld: Farming sector recovery next on Larry taskforce hit list

The Cyclone Larry recovery taskforce says its next big issue to tackle .. is the recovery
of battered farmland in far north Queensland.

The taskforce .. headed by former defence chief General PETER COSGROVE .. met at Parliament
House in Brisbane today.

Premier PETER BEATTIE says they've discussed how to accelerate the huge clear up job
in the farming sector.

He says the key is rehabilitating property .. so farming families can get back on the
land as soon as possible.
