NSW: Man pleads guilty to ramming his car through casino doors

SYDNEY, Aug 11 AAP - When a drunken Adam Turko was thrown out of Sydney's Star Citycasino, he refused to go quietly.
After twice trying to get back inside and being physically removed from the property,he returned with his car and rammed it through the casino's front doors.
Turko, also known as Adnan Bozkus, pleaded guilty today in Downing Centre Local Courtto three charges stemming from the incident and a subsequent police chase on July 17.
A police statement tendered to the court said Turko, a 38-year-old father of four,had been ejected from the casino about 1.15am (AEST) because he was drunk.
He made two unsuccessful attempts to get back into the casino before returning withhis car at 3.06am.
According to the statement, Turko drove his car down the front entry ramp of the casinoand accelerated through its plate glass doors, spraying the entrance with broken glass.
He then reversed and accelerated through another set of doors, causing $20,000 damage.
Police said the casino was very busy at the time and there were lots of patrons millingnear the entrance.
"The defendant showed little or no regard for the safety of other persons in the immediatearea," the statement said.
After driving off from the casino, Turko led police on a chase through the inner-citysuburbs of Pyrmont, Ultimo and Glebe.
Police allege he ran several red lights and reached speeds of up to 100kph - doublethe speed limit.
Road spikes laid by Highway Patrol officers at Broadway punctured the rear tyre ofTurko's car but he sped away from the scene, the statement said.
Police terminated the pursuit when Turko drove on to the Eastern Distributor but hewas later spotted heading south in a northbound lane of Southern Cross Drive near Eastlakes.
Turko was apprehended soon afterwards, when problems forced him to abandon his car.
He had a blood alcohol concentration of 0.135.
The cook, from inner-city Glebe, today pleaded guilty to malicious damage, drink drivingand driving recklessly/furiously in a speed or manner dangerous.
His case was adjourned for sentencing on August 25.
